About Me

I'm Goran Despotoski. I'm a PHP developer based in Macedonia with around 15 years of experience in pure PHP, custom frameworks and Laravel. I have been Laravel developer since 2014. DevOps enthusiast. Proficient in Kubernetes and Docker, solid experience with Google Cloud Platform and DigitalOcean. Good knowledge in CI/CD with CircleCI primarily and secondarily Gitlab and GCP Cloudbuild too.

What I've done so far

Work Experience

Arthaus 2009-2011 - Junior Web developer

Working on maintaining existing PHP projects and creating new ones. Worked with pure PHP (versions ranging form 5.0 to 5.2) and custom proprietary PHP framework made by the company employees. Worked with pure Javascript and then with jQuery.

Huebscher Hemden 2011-2017 - Mid/Senior Web developer/consultant

Created B2B ordering system for shops to order shirts and suits from the company. First done in a custom framework build by me (check my Github), then migrated to Laravel 4.0 (PHP 5.0 and up to PHP 5.6). Implemented new UI (Laravel with custom css) for current ERP system to be more user friendly with the existing underlying database and made it work seamlessly.

Icarasia 2017-2020 - Senior Web Developer/team lead

Created New car multi tenant CMS for managing new car deals in Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia. Technologies used Laravel 6 and Vuejs. Also used Elastic Search for speeding up the system. Built few internal tools for analytics for the built cms and few other tools for internal use (some GA dashboard and other things like scrapers).

Diag Vietnam 2020-2023 - Senior Web Developer/Technical Lead and DevOps

Began building a HIS (Hospital Information System) for internal usage. Integrated the HIS with many other internal systems like the LIS (Lab Information System), ERP, CRM, HRM. Managed Kubernetes infrastructure, lots of deployments and optimizations in K8s. Worked with CI/CD pipelines to have Infrastructure as Code.
